Job made a covenant with himself, a commitment that he would not look on young women to desire them or to let his imagination run wild with them even their image or in his thoughts. Equally, Jesus taught us in Mat. 5:28 that even thinking sinful thoughts without doing them is as sinful as actually doing them. This is an amplification of Exo 20:17 “Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor’s wife”. David saw before taking (2Sam 11:2).
Fasting is to teach us that the body does not control over us, and this is exactly what is necessary for people with this problem. This sin is pinned to the thoughts, “for as he thinketh in his heart, so is he” Pro 23:7. “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me” Phil 4:13.

The word nor concept of "cowboy" ever occurs in the Bible. The difference of concepts is great between the two. See ch51 Cowboys versus Shepherds. Part of the problem here is that bad pastors are usually great, dynamic public relations people who know how to emotionally work people to get what they want. Excellent pastors follow Jesus and are meek and humble of spirit, so they don't toot their own horns.

Excerpts: In Mark 5.2-5 there is a demon possessed person who day and night “cut himself with rocks.” In Matthew 17:15 we also see another demon working which seeks to force the person to commit suicide. The desire to harm yourself is a force of darkness, not from God. But the solution then is only found in God, in His love for you, and in His salvation. We should cast our cares upon Him, “for he careth for you” (1 Peter 5:7). By building a strong relationship with God we can get out of our problems. God will also give us strength and endurance through our problems. The only place of true happiness and joy is when one is in the will of God.
