The Seven Words on the Cross

The Seven Words on the Cross
St Robert Bellarmine

This is a very large and extensive work on Christ’s saying on the cross by Bellarmine (Catholic). Even though it is Catholic, it is a very notable work on Christ’s sayings, well worth examining when studying this topic. Bellarmine’s work is divided into two books, the first deals with the first first three sayings, and the second book with the last three sayings.

Chapter 3

The Names of God

The aim of this volume is to better acquaint its readers with the true and living God. If any of our readers feel that the author is lopsided, and does not maintain the balance of truth by emphasizing the responsibility of man, we would remind him that our thesis is God, not man.
